My name is Frank DePiano, and this website is meant to introduce you to the diverse chapters of my life — a life that has had its share of failures, but one that can also claim some genuine successes. Over the decades I have called many places home: Philadelphia, Elizabeth (New Jersey), Irmo and Lexington (South Carolina), Hollywood (Florida), and the mountains of Haywood County, North Carolina. Each of those communities shaped who I am.

I am a licensed psychologist, a Professor Emeritus, a former university Provost, a pilot, a martial artist, a runner, and an endlessly curious person. The sections below offer a window into those many facets. I hope you find something here that resonates — or simply interests you.
